Summary about Pearl Diving In the UAE

The Arabian Gulf was one of the biggest economies in the world. The number of pearl diving boats reached to more than 1000 boat; but after the 1950s pearl diving started to peter out due to the low income of pearls trading.
The Marine Environmental Group and Jumairah Group joined each other and created a touring educational eco for tourists, which hosts 20 guests to live the experience of pearl diving.
Journalists from the Gulf News were invited to the demo launching of the dhow tour, and they learnt how to search for pearls; as well they have been informed that none of the pearl divers got rich, the dhow trips were their main pleasure.
Pearl trading vanished when pearl farmers started their business, which made expensive pearls affordable and available for buyers.
Emirati divers use to spend weeks searching the sea for the pink pearl which was one of the most expensive pearls of all.
During the dhow tour, traditional clothes, fish and rice are being offered to live the authentic experience of the past.
